Gulkarmat Officers Evacuate 1 Meter Of Koros Snakes At Residents' Houses In Cijantung Area

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Sudin Gulkarmat) has succeeded in evacuating the koros snake from residential areas.

Officers received a report of the presence of snakes after the owner of the house reported an evacuation request through the call center of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept.

Head of the Operations Section (Kasiop) of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, said that after receiving reports from residents, his party immediately mobilized 4 Rescue personnel. Arriving at the location, the officer caught the koros snake.

"The Koros snake was evacuated from behind a resident's house on Beli Street, Mekar Alley 5, No 35, RT 08/09, Cijantung Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta," Gatot told reporters, Wednesday, November 17.

The incident of the discovery of the snake, continued Gatot, initially the owner of the house was feeding his pet chicken. Then he saw the appearance of the chorus snake around him.

"The owner of the house tried to catch the koros snake but it escaped and entered a rat hole. He immediately called 112 and we immediately evacuated it," he said.

Gatot confirmed that the size of the snake caught by its members was 1 meter long.

"The snake is approximately one meter long. There are 3 heads of families with 7 souls who were saved from the threat of the Koros snake. Later the snake will be returned to its habitat," he said.
