The Medan-Berastagi Route In North Sumatra Is Again Closed By A Landslide

MEDAN - Another landslide occurred on the Medan City to Berastagi crossing route, precisely in the area of Jalan Jamin Ginting Kilometer 50, Bandar Baru Village, Sibolangit District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

Due to the landslide, the traffic flow from Medan to Berastagi and vice versa is currently cut off.

"The Medan-Berastagi route and vice versa were cut off due to landslides blocking the road," said Sibolangit Sub-district Head Febri, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 16.

He said the landslide occurred allegedly due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that had occurred since 17:45 WIB.

"Currently the landslide material cannot be done because heavy rain is still ongoing," he said.

There were no casualties or vehicles that were hit by the landslide material. Meanwhile, traffic flow is currently happening from the direction of Berastagi to Penatapan.

"Info from the direction of Berastagi is already jammed up to Penatapan, only the information from Medan is not yet congested," he said.
