Attention To All Regional Heads, Provincial UMP Is The Latest 20 November 2021

JAKARTA - Regional heads have a deadline from the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah. Determination of the provincial minimum wage (UMP) for all provinces no later than November 20, 2021 with the process based on Government Regulation (PP) Number 36 of 2021 concerning Wages.

"The governor must determine the UMP no later than November 21, 2021 and because November 21 is a national holiday, the determination is made no later than November 20," said the Minister of Manpower Ida in a virtual press conference monitored from Jakarta on Tuesday, November 16.

Meanwhile, the determination of the district/city minimum wage (UMK) is carried out no later than November 30, 2021 and must be carried out after the determination of the UMP.

Ida explained that the time limit for the determination has also been reaffirmed by the Minister of Home Affairs 561/6393/SJ Regarding Minimum Wage Determination in 2022.

He said that based on PP Number 36 of 2021, which is a derivative of the Job Creation Act, there is no longer a minimum wage setting based on sectoral or what is known as the abbreviation UMS.

However, the UMS that was set before November 2, 2020 remains valid until the validity period ends or the UMP/UMK in the area has exceeded the amount.

The Minister of Manpower also reiterated that the minimum wage is the lowest wage set by the government and applies to workers with less than one year of service.

For workers with more than one year of service, effective wages should be used based on the structure and scale of wages in each company.

"Thus, the increase in the wages of each worker or laborer will depend on the productivity produced," said Ida
