KPK Has Not Received Report On Alleged Corruption At Garuda Indonesia
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron said his party had yet to receive reports related to alleged corruption at PT Garuda Indonesia, including from Peter F Gontha.
He said the KPK at this time could not do much about the allegations made by the former commissioner of the state-owned company. The reason is that the allegations will only be investigated after a complaint is made through official channels.
"Until now we have not received (the report of alleged corruption at Garuda Indonesia, ed)," said Ghufron to reporters, Tuesday, November 16.
Complaints through this official channel, explained Ghufron, must be submitted to the Public Complaints section (Dumas) of the KPK. Ghufron also said that the KPK cannot work arbitrarily only with information on social media.
"If only on Twitter, we don't have sufficient information, of course we can't do (investigation into allegations of corruption, ed)," he said.
According to him, rather than being busy posting allegations of corruption on social media, anyone including Peter F Gontha, continued Ghufron, should immediately report the alleged corruption that occurred at Garuda Indonesia. According to him, this is more important so that the KPK can carry out an investigation.
"If there is a report in more detail, it is suspected that there was a criminal act. If there is a report, we will follow up on it," he concluded.
