Speaking In Front Of PDIP Cadres, KPK Chair: Corruption Is A Crime Against Humanity That Is Harmful And Deprives Of Rights
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri reminded all parties to have the same spirit in efforts to eradicate corruption. Moreover, corruption is a crime against humanity that harms and impinges on people's rights.
He conveyed this in front of PDI-P cadres who participated in the National Cadre Education (PKN). This activity has become a tradition, where the party bearing the bull symbol often asks the KPK leadership to fill out similar events.
"Every individual, every child of the nation, must say that he does not want to build corruption. Corruption is not just an act against the law. But corruption is also a crime against humanity, not only harming state money, the wheels of the country's economy, but also depriving Indonesian children of their rights." " said Firli, quoted from his written statement, Tuesday, November 16.
He encouraged PDIP cadres to build attitudes and change behavior. In addition, Firli also provided a detailed explanation regarding the practice of corruption, bribery, and gratification so that it is hoped that education participants will not be trapped in unlawful acts.
Firli also believes that the party's education for the candidate leaders can be a good start.
“Because if we can do this well, it will become a civilization. We want a nation that has an anti-corruption civilization. We want to build our country with an anti-corruption culture,” said Firli.
Meanwhile, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said Firli's presence was part of a tradition in his party. His party, he continued, often invites the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK on various occasions, from schools for regional head candidates to the current PKN.
Apart from being part of the commitment, this was done because PDIP Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri asked for an anti-corruption culture to be built within the party.
"According to Mrs. Megawati's mandate, the PDI-P is actively building an anti-corruption culture. And that starts with the educational process in parties like PKN. Why is this being done? Because there is still corruption committed by Party members and cadres. Mrs. General Chairperson at every opportunity never tired of reminding it," said Hasto.
He said Firli's presentation in PKN activities was very comprehensive. He hoped that what was conveyed would be carried out by PDIP cadres.
"What Mr. Firli said must be the basis for all Party members and cadres not to abuse power, including corruption. This culture is being built. All elements of the Party must really pay attention to all efforts to prevent corruption by building a party management system, as well as the government system. which keeps away from various forms of corruption, including gratuities," he concluded.
