Pretending To Be A Police Even Though They Are Robbing Citizens With Drug Check Mode, 4 People In North Sumatra Are Arrested

MEDAN - Four fake policemen who claim to be members of the Binjai Police, North Sumatra, have been arrested. They are suspected of robbing residents with a drug check mode.

Binjai Police Chief AKBP Ferio Sano Ginting through Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Yayang Rizki Pratama said the incident began when the four victims crossed Jalan Sei Lepan, Pujidadi Village, South Binjai District, Binjai City using 2 motorbikes.

"Initially the four victims, Risky (20) and Yosua Gurusinga (26), Zurah (21) and Nur Anisa (21), rode on two motorbikes from their home and crossed Sei Lepan road," said AKP Yayang, accompanied by the Head of Public Relations Subdivision of AKP Siswanto Ginting, Tuesday, November 16th.

AKP Yayang continued, while on the way, suddenly the speed of the two motorbikes ridden by the victim was stopped by a group of men driving a white Toyota Avanza.

"As soon as he got out of his vehicle and admitted he was a member of the (police) police. The perpetrators then forced the four victims who they accused of being drug abusers to get into the car with the excuse that they would be taken to the police station," he said.

"At the same time, the two perpetrators immediately took the two motorbikes of the victims," continued AKP Yayang.

Instead of being taken to the police station, the four victims were taken by the perpetrators around the city of Medan. Then, all valuables belonging to the victim were confiscated by the perpetrators.

"By the perpetrators and dumped in two separate locations, namely Risky and Joshua, dumped in the sugar cane plantation area, Klumpang Kebun Village, Hamparan Perak District, Deliserdang Regency. While the two female victims, Zurah (21) and Nur Anisa (21), were abandoned on Jalan Jenderal AH Nasution, precisely in front of the Hajj Dormitory, Medan City," said AKP Yayang.

For the actions they experienced, the victims then reported the matter to the police on October 25, 2021 with the report number LP/683/X/2021-Resor Binjai. Upon the report, the police immediately launched an investigation.

"On November 4, 2021, the team got a bright spot on the whereabouts of the perpetrators and succeeded in arresting the four perpetrators who were looking for their next target on the Langkat-Aceh provincial road, precisely in Pangkalan Brandan, Langkat Regency," explained AKP Yayang.

AKP Yayang said the four arrested suspects were RS (31), YL als Yuda (33), NA als Nico (31) and ARN als Bedul (37). In addition, evidence in the form of 1 car and several pistols as well as cellphones belonging to the victim and the perpetrator were also secured

"The four suspects are suspected of violating Article 365 paragraphs (1) and (2) 2e of the Criminal Procedure Code, with a threat of 12 years in prison," said AKP Yayang.
