Had Delayed, This Weekend ATC Held Simultaneously With WSBK
JAKARTA - The Asia Talent Cup (ATC) is confirmed to take place this weekend, after being postponed previously. Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) as the promoter said ATC would be held in conjunction with World Superbike (WSBK).
The main director of MGPA, Ricky Baheramsjah, apologized for the ATC event which had to be rescheduled due to the circuit readiness aspect.
"Previously, we apologize to all racing lovers in the country regarding the implementation of the ATC, which we had to reschedule," Ricky said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 16.
After the delay, Dorna Sport and MGPA have coordinated about the rescheduling of the event.
ATC which was previously held on November 14 will take place on November 19-21. The agenda also took place simultaneously with the 4th series which was the closing of the WSBK season.
The four final ATC races will be held over two days, on November 20 and November 21. Meanwhile, November 19 was used for the rider-free practice session.
"Currently, we are with Dorna and assisted by the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) and continue to coordinate with the Fedration Internationale de Motorcyclisme (FIM) to prepare for the race according to the schedule that has been determined based on yesterday's test."
ATC delays were previously known due to aspects that did not meet the standards. The aspect in question is related to the procurement of marshals or circuit officers whose standard is eight people in each post.
Apart from that aspect, the construction and technical preparation of the circuit has been completed and there are no problems.
"Regarding the preparation of the circuit, we can confirm that the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit has no problems and that the construction is in accordance with the rules and standards set by the FIM. This is evidenced by the smooth implementation of the IATC practice session on our circuit," he said.
