Lenteng Agung-Tanjung Barat Will Soon Have An Instagramable Flyover

JAKARTA - The city of South Jakarta will soon have two flyovers that have a contemporary and instagramable appearance in the form of a horseshoe, equipped with a garden and attractive lighting.

Reported by Antara, Wednesday, August 5, Head of the South Jakarta Bina Marga sub-agency, Heru Suwondo, said there are two Instagramable flyovers, namely the Lenteng Agung flyover and the Tanjung Barat flyover.

"The presence of the Lenteng Agung and West Tanjung flyovers will later add to the beauty of the South Jakarta area," Heru said.

Heru said that the Lenteng Agung and West Tanjung flyover bridges were built by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Bina Marga Office starting at the end of 2019.

The elevated road of Lenteng Agung consists of two overturned horseshoe-shaped flyovers, 880 meters long with a construction cost of Rp143.55 billion.

Meanwhile, the Tanjung Barat overpass also consists of two overturned horseshoe-shaped flyovers, with a total length of 1,120 meters with a construction cost of Rp163.26 billion.

"The two flyover roads are designed attractively by taking the shape of a horseshoe back to back," he said.

According to Heru, the DKI Jakarta Bina Marga Office built STS (non-level intersections) both overpasses and underpasses in such a way that it looks artistic and good.

The artistic construction of STS has been carried out in recent years, such as the JPO in Sudirman, GBK Jelambar, including in the South Jakarta area there is the Pasar Minggu JPO and the underpass in Kartini.

"The South Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-dept. Also specifically requested that the flyover being built be special so it adds to the attractiveness of South Jakarta," Heru said.

Heru said that the presence of the Lenteng Agung and Tanjung Barat flyovers was not only to break down congestion at the railroad crossings in the region, it also added to the beauty of intragramble tourism in South Jakarta.

Like the Semanggi intersection, which is equipped with lighting that can be adjusted to the theme desired by the DKI Provincial Government, the elevated roads of Lenteng Agung and Tanjung Barat will also be made with lighting systems that can be changed according to the theme.

"Now in Semanggi because the theme is the Republic of Indonesia's Anniversary, the lights have changed to red and white," said Heru.

Apart from being equipped with lighting that can be changed according to the theme, the elevated roads of Lenteng Agung and Tanjung Barat are also equipped with pedestrian bridges (JPO) that are friendly for the elderly and disabled.

So that the elevated road can not only be used for vehicles that want to make a U-turn or cross, but can also be used for pedestrians by crossing a JPO equipped with an elevator.

"In addition to smoothing traffic and avoiding accidents in the area, we have accommodated people who wish to cross the tracks, even though the path below has been closed, they can use a JPO with an elevator," said Heru.

Currently, the construction work of the Lenteng Agung flyover has reached 79 percent, while the Tanjung Barat flyover has reached 66 percent. According to the working calendar, the project is expected to be completed in November this year.
