Fire At Pasar Rebo Turns Out To Be A Cotton Mill And Waste Collector, Losses Reached Rp500 Million
JAKARTA – The fire that scorched the cotton mill and plastic waste collectors on Jalan Kesehatan RT03/11, Gedong Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta, was successfully extinguished by the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-department (Sudin Gulkarmat). As a result of the fire, Suparman (54) factory owner suffered losses of up to Rp500 million.
"The object that burned is 300 m2. It is currently being cooled down," said Head of the Operations Section (Kasiop) of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, Tuesday, November 16.
Gatot said the fire was caused by an electrical short in the area, causing a spark.
"From the electrical panel in the engine room and grabbed the surroundings. The object was burned by the cotton mill so that the fire spread quickly. Now it has been extinguished," he said.
Previously reported, black smoke rising in the air. The smoke came from a junkyard on Jalan Raya TB Simatupang, Cijantung Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta, which was being hit by a fire.
The fire flared up because the object contained flammable items so that the fire blazed violently.
"The report was received at around 08.14 WIB from a resident named Zainudin. It was informed that a junkyard stall caught fire near Pasar Rebo Hospital," said Head of the Operations Section (Kasiop) of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, Tuesday, November 16.
