Facing City, Real Madrid Can Imitate Wolves
JAKARTA - Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid players made a trip to the Etihad Stadium this week. They realize that reversing the deficit is an uphill battle.
Los Blancos suffered a 1-2 defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg of the Champions League last 16. They had to beat City by at least two goals without reply to reach the quarter-finals.
Zidane had a plan clear in his head and he knew he had to beat City. However, currently City are in their best condition.
But Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have shown that nothing is impossible. Wolves beat City at the Etihad this season, thanks to the offensive strength of Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez.
Wolves' approach consisted of aggressive pressure on both sides, leaving City unable to do anything.
The same approach has been followed by Manchester United, who have seen City suffer two Premier League defeats at home this season.
United also beat City at home in the League Cup.
