Ganjar Move "Jogo Tonggo" So Focus On Helping Vaccination Of The Elderly

SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo shifted the "Jogo Tonggo" program, which was originally an innovation to overcome COVID-19 by prioritizing community participation to protect each other from the transmission of the corona virus, to focus on accelerating vaccinations for the elderly.

"The 'Jogo Tonggo' seems to have been diverted to help with the vaccine this time, because it's about food, about health, thank God, it's relatively under control so they aren't too busy anymore, and they can be diverted to move or look for 'older' neighbors who haven't been injected with the vaccine," he said. Ganjar in Semarang quoted by Antara, Monday, November 15.

According to Ganjar, this is mainly done in regencies/cities where the vaccine coverage rate for the elderly is still below 50 percent.

Currently, Ganjar continued, there are still as many as 10 districts/cities where there is no 50 percent vaccination coverage for the elderly.

The ten regions are Jepara, Pemalang, Purbalingga, Pati, Batang, Banjarnegara, Blora, Kudus, Tegal, and Pekalongan regencies.

"I'm only chasing 50 percent of the targets that have not been achieved. And the data we have is only Banjarnegara. In Pemalang, the data probably came in today, and I checked in Tegal earlier, it was more than 50 percent. " he said.

However, Ganjar continued, there are still around 10 regencies/cities that have not reached 50 percent of the elderly vaccination achievement, even below 40 percent.

According to him, the current stock of COVID-19 vaccines received by the Central Java Provincial Government is very large and sufficient to meet vaccination needs in all regions in Central Java, so the availability of vaccines is no problem if massive injections are required.

"There are so many vaccines now, we have enough, so immediately distribute them to friends (district/city governments). We ordered checks that wanted to be 'expired', and controlled. Then an even more massive attack was carried out. Hopefully this week they can mobilize everything the power to get a vaccine," he said.
