After Being Investigated By The KPK Regarding The Azis Syamsuddin Case, Aliza Gunado Chooses To Take A Thousand Steps

JAKARTA - The former chairman of the PP Youth Forces of the Golkar Party who became the right-hand man of former Deputy Chairman of the DPR Azis Syamsuddin, Aliza Gunado, has completed his examination. He was examined as a witness in the alleged bribery for handling corruption cases in Central Lampung.

After being questioned this morning, Aliza finished undergoing an examination at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta at around 16.00 WIB. After exiting the building's lobby, he didn't say a word.

Instead of explaining about the investigation that had just been submitted, Aliza chose to take a thousand steps to avoid reporters at the KPK.

Previously, the KPK scheduled the examination of a number of witnesses to investigate allegations of bribery by Azis against a former investigator, Stepanus Robin Pattuju. Not only Aliza, another witness being examined is Edy Sujarwo.

Then, investigators also scheduled an examination of the former Kutai Kertanegara Regent Rita Widyasari at the Class IIA prison in Tangerang. Just like Aliza and Edy, he will also be examined as a witness to complete Azis Syamsuddin's file.

As previously reported, Azis Syamsuddin was named a suspect in connection with the alleged bribery in handling a corruption case currently being handled by the KPK in Central Lampung. This award was given to Stepanus Robin Pattuju who had been dismissed from his job as an investigator.

In this case, the KPK suspects that Azis and former General Chairperson of the PP Youth Forces of the Golkar Party (AMPG) Aliza Gunado gave bribes to KPK investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju (SRP) worth Rp. 3.1 billion from an agreement of Rp. 4 billion.

The money was given to Stepanus so that the former investigators would secure their position in the alleged corruption of the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) in Central Lampung.
