Worried That It Will Even Be 'fried' Greenpeace Case Report That Criticizes Jokowi About Deforestation Officially Revoked
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Metro Police stated that the Chairman of Cyber Indonesia, Husin Shahab, withdrew his report to the Chairs of Greenpeace Leonard Simanjuntak and Kiki Taufik.
Thus, Polda Metro Jaya has stopped the investigation into this report. Husain Shahab previously reported Leonard and Kiki Taufik for criticizing President Joko Widodo's speech on deforestation at the COP26 Summit in Glasgow.
Now the report number LP/B/5623/XI/2021/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya has been officially revoked.
"I just received it from the complainant and after discussion, the police report that was made was finally withdrawn," said the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Tubagus Ade Hidayat, Monday, November 15.
The revocation of the report, said Tubagus, was based on several reasons. One of them is because the reporting party does not want the issue to be politicized by several parties.
"One of the reasons is that he does not want this to be politicized. This is considered a form of anti-critical government," explained Tubagus Ade. With this revocation, continued Tubagus, this case will no longer be legally processed. However, the solution will be solved in another way.
"With the revocation of the police report, it does not mean that he considers the problem solved. It will be discussed later through an academic pulpit," said Tubagus.
For information, this report began when Husin Shahab felt aggrieved by Greenpeace Indonesia's statement regarding deforestation data in Indonesia. The reason, is not in accordance with the facts and misleading.
