17 Cases Of Social Assistance Diversion Occurred In West Java
JAKARTA - The number of cases of alleged misappropriation of COVID-19 social assistance funds (Bansos) in West Java has increased again. There are four new cases found, bringing the total to date as many as 17 cases.
Head of West Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Saptono Erlangga, said the new case was found in Kuningan Regency. In that area, he said, there are four new cases currently being handled by the police.
"That's from the overflow from the Kuningan Saber Pungli Task Force. Everything is still in process, there are no suspects yet," Erlangga said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, August 5.
According to him, so far 17 cases of misappropriation of social assistance funds are still in the stage of clarification and are asking for information from a number of parties. He said the whole case had not yet entered the investigation stage.
"It's still at the clarification stage, because we have to take one by one information from the executor, then from the recipient, we have to check first," he said.
Previously, apart from four new cases found in Kuningan, out of 13 cases, seven were handled by the West Java Regional Police's Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus). While the rest is handled by the local police.
"So the seven cases handled by Ditreskrimsus were misappropriation of social assistance funds, but all statuses are still under investigation," said Erlangga at the West Java Regional Police, Bandung City, Tuesday (28/7).
He explained that the seven cases handled by Ditreskrimsus came from Sukabumi, Majalengka, Subang, Garut, Bogor, Indramayu, and Cianjur.
Meanwhile, the six cases handled by the police were in Karawang, Tasik and Indramayu. In Indramayu Regency, according to him there were four cases of social assistance fraud.
The modes that occur in a number of social assistance fraud cases also vary, there are cases that use the direct mode of cutting funds which should be the right of the people in need.
In addition, there is also a mode that involves replacing the contents of the social assistance boxes in the form of basic necessities, replaced with products that are of lower quality or of lower price.
