Looking To Perform Again In ONE Championship, Paul Lumihi Studying In Bali

JAKARTA - Paul Lumihi is again eyeing the ONE Championship free fight. For this reason, the fighter, who usually plays in the bantamweight class, studied or hone his skills at the Soma Fight Club gym in Bali.

“I train in Soma to improve my skills. I haven't joined in a long time and train in a training camp. Usually after competing in ONE Championship a few times, I train alone,” said Paul Lumihi coaching Antara, Monday, 15 November.

In the first two weeks of training in Soma, he said, focus on physical adjustments first. The next step is to run the program that has been set by the coaches who have had names in the MMA event.

Soma Fight Club is helmed by some of the most active MMA fighters in Asia. The club was founded by former Bali MMA striking coach Mike Ikelei and former ONE Championship fighter Gianni Subba.

“I chose Soma because this is a new camp and I want to train with this former fighter in ONE. Gianni will focus on training me on accuracy. During my training with Gianni I gained some important points in attack, fighting under and strength conditions. It was there that I met Mike Ikelei, the striking coach,” said the former One Pride champion.

Paul Lumihi also got his grappling material while training with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) black belt fighter Frank Marques. Paul also mentioned that he trained with ONE Super Series fighter Brown Pinas.

“I feel a huge competitive element in training with foreign fighters. They train very hard, every movement must be in the very maximum ability. As a former champion in Indonesia, I have a moral obligation to reclaim my name, so I take this training very seriously.” Paul explained.

The fighter nicknamed "The Great King" is indeed training seriously to prepare for his next fight in the near future, although it has not been stated who his opponent will be.

Paul Lumihi admits he can't wait and is confident enough to show off his skills in ONE Championship. Especially when it is supported by new gyms and coaches who are full of experience.
