Close The Police KBPP Cup In Bali, Puan Hopes Many Golden Seeds Of Football Players Appear

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, visited Bali today. During her visit, Puan was present at the same time closing the Police Boys and Girls Family Cup (KBPP) football tournament at an early age, which had been held since November 12, 2021.

The closing of the National Police KBPP Cup was held at Renon Square, Denpasar, Bali, Sunday, November 14. Puan herself was present as the KBPP Polri Honorary Council where the Polri KBPP early age tournament was part of the Dreams Come True program which was attended by 64 teams from 13 provinces.

"Congratulations to the Indonesian National Police KBPP Cup participants who have become champions in the U-10, U-11, U-12, and U-13 age categories. You have made your parents, coaches and regions proud," said Puan in a statement received by VOI, Jakarta, November 14.

The U-10 Police KBB Cup was won by Berau Marine from East Kalimantan, the U-11 category was won by Bali United Blue from Bali, the U-12 champion was Arcamanik from West Java, and the U-13 winner was Flamboyan FC from Bali. The winners will represent Indonesia in the international tournament, Dreams Come True in 2022 which will be held in Jakarta.

Dreams Come True is a football nursery through tiered competitions for early childhood and youth (8–16 years) from the provincial, national to international levels. Later the winning team at the national level will have the opportunity to compete at the international level representing their country.

“You who are young must be optimistic, you must dare to represent Indonesia on the world stage. And remember that good preparation is diligent practice, diligent competition. But because you are still in school, so you have to be diligent in studying at school, right," said Puan.

To the team that has not won, the first woman who serves as Chair of the DPR RI asks not to be discouraged. Puan said all teams had to keep their spirits up, keep practicing, try, and keep participating in various tournaments, as well as develop talent because the opportunities in the future are wide and must be used properly.

“Then for Indonesian football fans, our dream is clear, namely that the Indonesian national team can compete in the World Cup. We want to participate in celebrating the excitement of the World Cup by supporting the Indonesian national team, by flying the Red and White in international stadiums," he explained.

To achieve that dream, said Puan, tournaments such as the National Police KBPP Cup are needed. Through various competitions, he is sure that many of Indonesia's best gold seeds will be found.

“We can find potential Indonesian football star players, who can make the nation proud on the international stage. And the golden seeds of Indonesian football must receive gold-quality coaching as well," said Puan.

Football stakeholders, including the National Police KBPP, are also expected to pay attention to the coaching aspects of the golden seeds of Indonesian football. Puan hopes that the participants of the National Police KBPP Cup tournament will become superior seeds who will advance to become U-16 players.

"So that Indonesian football players will appear who can bring Red and White to compete in the World Cup. By working together, let's realize Indonesia's big dream of competing in the football World Cup," said the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

On that occasion, Puan also gave trophies and medals to the champions. The winners of the National Police KBPP Cup this time will take part in the 2022 International Youth Football Tournament in Jakarta.

“I've only seen a child on the field once again since COVID-19. I hope that at the international championships, the Red and White will fly and the anthem Indonesia Raya will be heard," said Puan.

Bali Governor Wayan Koster, who accompanied Puan, said that the Renon Field, which was the location of the National Police KBPP Cup tournament, would be tested for tourist activities and big events. Puan reminded that health protocols should still be prioritized even though the tourism sector is now re-opening.

"We have proven that Bali is able to protect itself from COVID. Because we know, just before the new year, Bali has become a tourist destination. Is Bali ready to guard against a third wave of COVID-19," said the grandson of the Indonesian Proclaimer Bung Karno.

Puan asked the Bali Provincial Government to continue to take various measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Moreover, Bali is often the location for holding international events, including the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly in March 2022 where the Indonesian Parliament is the host of the conference of world parliaments.

"There's no audience yet like this. So it must be anticipated in the future so that Bali will not have COVID cases," concluded Puan.
