Postponed To Next Week, Asia Talent Cup In Mandalika Held Together With World Superbike
JAKARTA - The 3rd series of the Asia Talent Cup race at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, NTB, has been postponed to next week in conjunction with the World Superbike event on November 19-21.
"Dorna Sport, together with the Mandalika Grand Prix Association, can confirm that the ATC season finale will consist of four races and run from November 19-21, in conjunction with WSBK," the Asia Talent Cup's official website said on Sunday, citing Antara.
The first ATC race at the Mandalika Circuit should have been held to test the readiness of the circuit and track facilities.
Organizers said the challenges to the race "have been identified and are now being addressed to ensure the safety of the riders during the race."
Pertamina Mandalika Circuit hosted the 3rd and 4th series of ATC which had held the first two series in Losail, Qatar.
Japan's Taiyo Furusato leads the top of the standings after winning all four races in Qatar and has 100 points, 41 ahead of nearest rival Danial Sharil of Malaysia.
Next year Furusato will be promoted to Moto3 to become a teammate of Indonesian rider Mario Suryo Aji in the Asia Honda Team.
The ATC 2021 series was also enlivened by four Indonesian racers, namely Fadillah Aditama, Herjun Firdaus, Herlian Dandi and Azryan Dheyo.
