Indonesia Survey Center: Prabowo's Electability Far Above His Competitors
JAKARTA - The Indonesia Survey Center said Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto is ahead of other candidates who are predicted to run in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). In terms of popularity, liking, and electability, the name of the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party is higher.
"Prabowo occupies the first position in the popularity level with 90.3 percent being known to the public," said a senior researcher at the Indonesia Survey Center, Chairul Ansari when presenting the results of his survey which was broadcast online, Sunday, November 14.
Furthermore, at the level of preference, Prabowo is also quite liked by the respondents, up to 80.2 percent. With these figures, said Ansari, the former Danjen Kopassus has secured a public response.
As for electability, Prabowo is still undefeated. "From the electability variable with open questions to measure public memory or top of mind, Prabowo is in the top position with 20.3 percent of support," said Ansari.
In the next order, there are the names of the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo with an electability of 12.3 percent and the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan whose electability reaches 12.1 percent.
Under the three names, there are other candidates whose name electability is below 10 percent and 21.9 percent of them have not made their choice because the 2024 presidential election is still far away.
Meanwhile, in a closed-ended question by reading out the names of 17 presidential candidates, it turns out that Prabowo's name is still the main choice, gaining support of 22.7 percent.
Next, the other names chosen by the respondents were Ganjar Pranowo with 12.6 percent, Anies Baswedan with 12.2 percent, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno with 5.7 percent, Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono 4, 5 percent, and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil 4.3 percent.
In addition, there is also the name of the Chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, whose electability is at 3.6 percent; Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto 2.9 percent; Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini 2.7 percent; and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa 2.1 percent.
For information, the Indonesia Survey Center conducted data collection from 7-21 October by involving 1,520 respondents with the criteria of being 17 years and over or having been married. Meanwhile the margin of error for this survey is 2.5 percent and the technique used is multistage random sampling.
