Although 1 Tank Of Cilacap Refinery Burns, Pertamina's Managing Director Nicke Widyawati Brings Good News: Fuel Supply To Jakarta Is Still Safe
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina Nicke Widyawati is said to have directly monitored the handling of the Cilacap refinery fire through the Pertamina Integrated Command Center (PICC) at the Graha Pertamina Building, Jakarta.
In an official statement today, he said if the fire was successfully controlled by the firefighting team and it seemed to be getting smaller.
"The energy supply for the community is not hampered and the distribution continues to run smoothly," he said, Sunday, November 14.
Nicke also monitors the supply of fuel as well as the mechanism for the Regular, Alternative and Emergency (RAE) supply pattern which is also recorded through the PICC system.
"We ask for the support and prayers of all Indonesian people, so that we can immediately handle this incident completely," he said.
Meanwhile, the surrounding community who previously had time to secure themselves in the Lomanis Village Hall and the Baitul Munir Lomanis Mosque have all returned to their homes.
The state-owned oil and gas company reportedly deployed around 50 personnel from the Emergency Assistance Team (TBKD) and 30 firefighters from internal Pertamina. Pertamina also coordinates with the TNI and POLRI to secure conditions in the location around the incident area.
As previously reported, the Pertamina RU VI Cilacap Refinery, Central Java, reportedly caught fire on Saturday, November 13, at around 19:00 WIB.
The Cilacap refinery, as reported by Antara, is one of six Pertamina refineries. Every day, this processing capacity is capable of producing 270,000 barrels.
