Refinery Fire In Cilacap, Pertamina Performs Tank Cooling With Water Sprinkle
JAKARTA - Pertamina's efforts to extinguish the fire are still being carried out at the location of the refinery fire, in Banjaran, Donan Village, Cilacap, Central Java.
Pertamina International Refinery Corporate Secretary Ifki Sukarya said his party was trying to prevent the fire from spreading to other tanks.
"Efforts to extinguish the fire are carried out intensively by using the High Capacity Foam Monitor on the burning tank. For the surrounding tanks, water sprinkler cooling is carried out to prevent the fire from spreading," explained Ifki via electronic message, Saturday, November 3.
Ifki Sukarya said the fire was estimated to have occurred at 19.20 WIB. One tank that caught fire contained Pertalite. Pertamina does not yet know the exact cause of the fire.
Pertamina is currently also checking the community around the incident area to ensure the community is in a safe condition,"
"For people who are located in the area closest to the location, an evacuation will be carried out to move the community to a safer area," said Ifki.
Pertamina also ensures that the supply of fuel and LPG to the community is safe and uninterrupted.
