Massive Transformation Of Bogor City Hospital, Now A Referral Hospital With Advanced Medical Devices

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Health, Dante Saksono Herbowono supports various innovations and developments of the Bogor City Regional General Hospital (RSUD) into a regional referral hospital and teaching hospital, even for research.

"This is a milestone, a milestone today," said Dante when inaugurating the MRI 3 Tesla, CT-Scan 128 Slice, and ESWL medical device facilities at the Bogor City Hospital, Saturday, November 13.

Present at the inauguration were the Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya Sugiarto, Director of the Bogor City Hospital Ilham Chaidir, Deputy Chair of the West Java DPRD Achmad Ru'yat, Head of the West Java Health Service Nina Susana Dewi.

The Deputy Minister of Health said that the highest death rate in Indonesia was due to four indirect or non-communicable diseases, namely heart disease, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and cancer. These four diseases can be detected properly with the three medical devices.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) 3 Tesla is a medical device with radiological scanning techniques that use magnets, radio waves, and computers to produce images of body structures, bones, or soft tissues of the body, including the nervous system, so as to be able to diagnose diseases or injuries.

CT (Cimouterized Tomography) Scan 128 Slice is a medical device with medical imaging techniques for examination of the heart, angiography (examination of blood vessels), brain (evaluation of stroke, infarction, bleeding stroke, infection, tumor, head injury), chest cavity (lungs, tumors, infections, disorders of the mediastinum, large blood vessel disorders), abdominal cavity (abnormalities in the liver, bile ducts, kidneys, spleen, pancreas, intestines, and examination of blood vessels), ENT (paranasal sinuses, evaluation of the inner ear), and orthopedics (bone tumors, infection, trauma).

Meanwhile, ESWL (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy) is a medical device to solve kidney stones in the urinary tract which is carried out from outside the body, thereby overcoming various urological-related diseases.

"With these medical devices, hospitals must be ready to serve people who need these devices," he said as quoted by Antara.

Dante reminded that the medical devices, which are assistance from the Ministry of Health, the West Java Provincial Government, and the Bogor City Government, are not simple tools, are quite expensive, and must be operated by skilled health workers.

As a regional referral hospital, the Bogor City Hospital does not only serve the local community, but also from various regencies/cities in the vicinity.

"It supports and becomes a reference for the hospitals under it," said Dante.

Meanwhile, to become a teaching hospital and a research hospital, said the Deputy Minister of Health, Bogor City Hospital must manage hospital management not as business as usual, but rather business as unusual which requires reliable entrepreneurship. , including in managing good financing management.
