Hadi Pranoto Demands Compensation of USD 10 billion, Muanas: It's to Cover Up His Lies
JAKARTA - Chairperson of Cyber Indonesia, Muanas Alaidid, considers that Hadi Pranoto's threats were only to cover up his lies about COVID-19 antibody herbal medicine.
"Yes, he made it up. To show that he deliberately built up bombastic claims to cover up his actions. Which were suspected of being filled with false news," Muanas told VOI, Wednesday, August 5.
In addition, the nominal value of the demands is also considered irrelevant. There is no basis to explain Hadi Pranoto suffered losses on reports of the alleged spread of the hoax.
"How do I specify what I did cause such losses. That is what he must be able to specify," said Muanas.
In fact, Muanas said he felt strange when Hadi asked himself to apologize as a solution to the problem. This is because the case for the alleged spread of fake news has not yet entered the investigation process.
So, it has not been determined whether Hadi has been proven to be true or just the opposite. "He hasn't even come to give information to the police. So if it is considered defamatory, what do you think," said Muanas.
Previously, Hadi Pranoto said he would report Muanas because he was considered to have defamed his good name. In addition, Hadi will also ask for compensation in the amount of USD 10 billion or equivalent to IDR 145 trillion.
"Yes, I will report back because this includes defamation and assassination of my character," said Hadi when interviewed by VOI.
However, the intention of reporting back could be withdrawn. With one condition that Muanas has to apologize directly to him.
"I will forgive and there will be no problem (if he has good intentions). If he doesn't want to apologize, I will report him," said Hadi.
Hadi Pranoto was reported to Polda Metro Jaya by Muanas because there was a suspicion of spreading false news about the herbal antibody drug to cure COVID-19.
Hadi Pranoto was reported with Articles 14 and 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 and Article 28 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 45 A of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning the Law on Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE). The report has been registered under the number LP/4538/VIII/YAN.2.5/2020/SPKT PMJ.
