MRT Jakarta Collaborates With British Company To Increase HR Capacity

JAKARTA - PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) cooperates with a British company, Crossrail Internasional Ltd, to increase and develop the capacity and human resources (HR) in urban railways.

The collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) President Director William Sabandar and Crossrail International Ltd Chief Executive Officer Paul Dyson at the 2021 Jakarta Investment Forum in Jakarta, Friday, November 12.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and United Kingdom Country Director Department for International Trading Oliver Richards witnessed the collaboration firsthand.

"MRT Jakarta is the first urban rail public transportation system in Indonesia that has unlimited business development potential. This is a good opportunity to invest in Jakarta," Anies said as quoted by Antara.

According to Anies, the planned construction of 235 kilometers of railway lines by 2035 provides so many opportunities and space for investment in Jakarta.

Therefore, this collaboration is the right momentum to generate investment opportunities in Jakarta from various industrial sectors.

Meanwhile, William Sabandar explained that the signing of the memorandum of understanding aims to explore cooperation in terms of human resource development for MRT Jakarta in its capacity in the urban rail transportation system.

International Crossrail is also willing to be used as a reference in the initiation or planning, funding, development and operation of the MRT Jakarta project in the future.

"We are also intensively coordinating with the British side in order to explore funding for phase 3 of the Jakarta MRT and subsequent phases," William said.

This collaboration with Crossrail International Ltd also includes studies and studies as well as best strategies related to east and west line development, engineering management, governance and commercial structures, financing and procurement strategies, digital business strategies and operations.
