Stunting Rate In Mukomuko Highest In Bengkulu Province

BENGKULU - The highest number of stunting (dwarf children) in Bengkulu Province is in Mukomuko Regency.

The head of the Bengkulu Provincial Health Office, Herwan Antoni, said the number of stunting in Mukomuko touched 10.38 percent. While in Bengkulu Province it reached 6.12 percent.

"Bengkulu province is below the national figure (stunting)," said Herwan in Bengkulu, quoted from Antara, Thursday, November 12.

Herwan said, for North Bengkulu Regency the stunting rate touched 8.81 percent and Kepahiang Regency 7.96 percent.

Furthermore, Central Bengkulu Regency is around 7.57 percent, Kaur Regency is 6.62 percent, Rejang Lebong Regency is 6.15 percent, Seluma Regency is 4.81 percent, South Bengkulu Regency is 2.22 percent and the lowest is Bengkulu City, which is 1.14 percent. .

Indonesia's Bappenas has issued a Decree (SK) of the Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas Number 10 of 2021 concerning Determination of District/City Expansion Locations for Integrated Stunting Reduction Interventions for 2022.

By carrying out a stunting reduction acceleration program in 10 city districts and those who have implemented the national program, namely Kaur Regency, South Bengkulu Regency, North Bengkulu Regency and Seluma Regency.

"To realize a dwarf-free Bengkulu by 2030, we are preparing pregnant women and strengthening the next 1,000 days, improving the quality of life by providing clean water and basic sanitation in households," he said.
