2 Villages In West Lombok Are Flooded, Bridges, Houses And Rice Fields Belong To Residents Are Submerged
NTB - Sekotong Tengah Village and Preparation Pengantap Village were hit by floods. The strong flow of water also caused the bridge in the village to break.
The Head of Sekotong Police, West Lombok Police, Iptu I Kadek Sumerta said the flooding was due to high rainfall which lasted from Thursday to today, Friday, November 12.
"The high rainfall causes the water discharge that comes down from the top of the hills to be quite large, causing the existing river water to overflow", said Kadek as quoted by Antara.
The overflowing river water also enters the rice fields and residential areas due to the location of the house at the bottom of the hill.
"Water overflowed into people's homes, causing several residents' houses and rice fields to be submerged in water, which was exacerbated by blockage of drains or drainage of water", he said.

He said the flood in Sekotong Tengah Village submerged the houses of residents in Karang Lebah Hamlet and Elak Juring Hamlet. Meanwhile, in the village of Preparation Pengantap, floods inundated Kebeng Hamlet. For the time being, there are no reports of casualties due to the flood.
In addition to submerging residents' houses, said Kadek, the flood also cut the connecting bridge between Buwun Mas Village and Preparation Pengantap Village, so that traffic flow was hampered.
With the natural disaster, members of the Bhabinkamtibmas of Buwun Mas Village, together with the Regional Disaster Management Agency of West Lombok Regency, and the village government went to the location.
They help residents and give advice and check people's houses that are submerged and roads that are flooded.
"We are also helping the community to clean up clogged waterways due to debris from branches and twigs being dragged by the water. Currently, the flood has receded", said Kadek.
