9 Years Fugitive, Papuan Education Office Corruption Convict Arrested In Gianyar Bali
DENPASAR - A joint team from the Bali High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) and the Papua Prosecutor's Office arrested I Made Jabbon Suyasa Putra (41) who has been on the run for 9 years.
"He has been a fugitive for 9 years since 2012," said the Head of Penkum and Public Relations of the Bali High Prosecutor's Office, A Luga Harlianto, when contacted Friday, November 12.
The convict Made Jabbon was arrested at 06.00 WITA this morning. He was arrested at his home in Central Banjar Bon Biu, Blahbatuh District, Gianyar Regency, Bali.
"The convict is being sought by the Papua Prosecutor's Office to carry out the decision at the cassation level No. 392 K/Pid.sus/2012 dated 27 March 2012. Previously, the convict I Made Jabbon Suyasa Putra was detained from the investigation stage to the stage of legal action at the appeal level," explained Luga. .
While waiting for the cassation decision, the convict I Made Jabbon was released by law because his detention period had expired. Since then the convict I Made Jabbon is no longer at his place of residence according to the case file so that no execution can be carried out at the time of the cassation decision Number 392 K/Pid.sus/2012 dated 27 March 2012.
Furthermore, in the last few months the Prosecutor's Office of Papua received information that the convict was in Gianyar Regency, so that monitoring was carried out. In the last few days, it was observed that the convict I Made Jabbon Suyasa Putra was at his residence and was immediately arrested.
"Furthermore, they will be brought to Jayapura to carry out the decision on the cassation level No. 392 K/Pid.sus/2012 dated March 27, 2012," added Luga.
The convict based on decision No. 392 K/Pid.sus/2012 was sentenced to imprisonment for 1 year 6 months and a fine of IDR 50,000,000 subsidiary 3 months in prison.
In addition, the convict is required to pay compensation of Rp. 740,908,700, a subsidiary of 1 year in prison.
Decision Number 392 K/Pid.sus/2012 upheld the decision of the court for criminal acts of corruption at the Jayapura Class IA District Court Number 02/Pid.Tipikor/2011/PN.Jpr. dated 27 September 2011 in conjunction with the decision of the Court of Appeal for Corruption Crimes at the Jayapura High Court Number 04/Tipikor.Banding/2011/PT.Jpr. November 21, 2011.
The convict I Made Jabbon was found guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption over the procurement of notebooks and generators at the Education and Teaching Office of Keerom Regency, Papua, where the work has not been completed 100 percent.
However, the convict attaches work documents as if the work has been completed 100 percent, so that 100 percent of the work is paid with a state loss of Rp 805,908,700.
