Too Tough For His Opponents, Khamzat Chimaev Offers To Face Leon Edwards At UFC 269
JAKARTA - Following the resignation of Jorge Masvidal from UFC 269, Leon Edwards currently has no opponents. However, one rising star admits he is ready to fight with him.
One of the most exciting fighters in the UFC with a 10-0, Khamzat Chimaev, looks unstoppable in every fight. Yes, he didn't really feel how to fight until the third round.
Of Chimaev's 10 professional fights, only three made it to the second round and none made it to the seventh minute of the fight.
The 27-year-old took to Twitter to announce he was ready to replace the injured Masvidal.
"Come on, man, let's fight," Chimaev chirped as he tagged Edwards' account.

Launching MARCA, Chimaev has never faced significant resistance from his opponents. His first fight in the UFC ended so quickly that he immediately demanded another fight.
Fighting again just 10 days later, the second bout surprisingly ended with his victory in the first round.
In his last fight on October 30, 2021, against Li Jingliang, Chimaev looked untouchable. Once again ending the fight in the first round.
Now he wants to fight again, and fight Edwards from Birmingham.
Edwards himself was supposed to fight Chimaev in the main event of UFC Fight Night 183 on December 19, 2020. However, the Chechen-born Swedish fighter contracted COVID-19 and suffered from prolonged symptoms that required him to be hospitalized.
Edwards tested positive not long after Chimaev and also suffered from bad symptoms, causing him to lose about 12 pounds. Thus, the fight was cancelled.
With incredible wins against Rafael dos Anjos, Nate Diaz and Donald Cerrone, Edwards moved up to 3rd in the UFC, while Chimaev sits at No.10.
Despite this ranking difference, there is no doubt that Chimaev will be a tough test for anyone in the 170 pound division.
UFC 269 will take place on December 12 in Las Vegas and will feature the main game between Charles Oliveira vs Dustin Poirier.
