Men Steal Women's Congregation Bags At Binjai Mosque Viral, Police Intervene
MEDAN - The action of a man who was desperate to steal a bag belonging to a female congregation was caught on CCTV and went viral on social media. The incident occurred at the Great Mosque of Binjai City, North Sumatra (North Sumatra).
In the 1 minute 28 second video, a number of women are seen praying. When the congregation was prostrating, a man was seen running into the mosque.
The man was then seen taking the congregation's bag and immediately ran out of the mosque.
"A man was caught on CCTV while carrying away the bag of a female congregation who was carrying out the Isha prayer in congregation at the Great Mosque of Binjai City, Wednesday night, November 10, 2021," the video narration reads.
In the narrative it is stated that the victim is a resident of Medan City who stopped by to pray. The victim is said to have tried to give chase but to no avail.
"Had to give chase, but the victim lost track of the perpetrator. The victim has reported this incident to the East Binjai Police Headquarters," wrote the video uploader.
Separately, the Head of the Public Relations Subdivision of the Binjai Police, AKP Siswanto Ginting, when confirmed by reporters, confirmed the incident. AKP Siswanto said his party was processing this case.
"The information is correct, and the East Binjai Police Criminal Investigation Unit is currently investigating the case," said AKP Siswanto, Thursday, November 11.
