Golkar Insinuates PDIP About The Chance Of Rewards In The Presidential Election: If There Is No Place, We Are Open
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP, Nurdin Halid, has opened up opportunities for his party if the Governor of Central Java, who is also a PDIP cadre, Ganjar Pranowo, wants to join the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
"If Ganjar doesn't have a place in his party (PDIP), Golkar is open. Whether to be number 1 or number 2, that's a question later," said Nurdin at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, November 11.
Nurdin opened the door if Ganjar wanted to accompany the General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto. Because, he said, it is impossible for Airlangga Hartarto to run alone because there must be a representative in the 2024 presidential election contestation.
Nurdin said that if the aspirations of the Ganjarist Volunteers do not have a place "at home" then there is a new "house" that can be entered. This analogy is in line with the fact that PDIP has yet to give approval for Ganjar's advancement in the upcoming presidential election
On the other hand, Nurdin assessed, the 2024 presidential election will likely be followed by three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates. The reason is, there is a presidential threshold of 20 percent which is regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.
"If you want to 'exercise', I judge that there are a maximum of three pairs of candidates because the presidential threshold is 20 percent. Golkar only needs one party, while the PDI-P does not need it," he said.
He added, based on political mapping, there are two parties that need a coalition of two parties to carry the presidential and vice presidential candidates, namely the Gerindra Party and the NasDem Party. Meanwhile, Golkar, said Nurdin, only needed one party to form a coalition, while PKB needed 3-4 parties.
"From the mapping, it can be seen who will be successful or not," he said.
