These Are 20 Provinces With Recovery Rates Above The National Average

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, said that currently there are 20 provinces that have a cure rate for COVID-19 that is higher than the national average.

This data analysis was taken by Wiku in the development of COVID-19 as of August 1. Currently, the national average recovery rate in 34 provinces is 61.79 percent.

"It can be seen here that the provinces that from time to time are still in the top ranks in terms of cure rates are West Kalimantan and Central Sulawesi," said Wiku at Graha BNPB, East Jakarta, Tuesday, August 8.

The province with the highest recovery rate was in South Kalimantan with cases recovered reaching 91.73 percent. The second province is Central Sulawesi with a recovery rate of 91.3 percent, the third is Bangka Belitung Islands with a cure rate of 89.6 percent.

Provinces with other high recovery rates are Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, West Sumatra, Lampung, North Kalimantan, Banten, Riau, South Sulawesi, Jambi, Central Kalimantan, East Java, Maluku, Riau Islands, West Papua, DKI Jakarta, East Kalimantan, and West Nusa Tenggara.

"This of course needs to be maintained and followed by other provinces, so that the recovery rate can increase," he said.

Then, Wiku also explained that there were 14 provinces with a cure rate below the national average. The provinces with the lowest recovery rates were in North Maluku with 21.26 percent, then Aceh with 21.93 percent, and North Sumatra with 37.46 percent.

In addition, provinces with recovery rates below the national average are Papua, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, DI Yogyakarta, South Kalimantan, Central Java, West Sulawesi, West Java, and Southeast Sulawesi.

"This province asks that his recovery can be improved, by means of improved health services and good patient supervision, so that the recovery rate can increase," he said.
