Indonesia Receives Donation Of 680,400 Doses Of Moderna Vaccine From The Netherlands

JAKARTA - Indonesia has again received donations for the COVID-19 vaccine, which this time amounted to 680,400 doses of Moderna vaccine in finished form through the arrival of the 117th stage and is assistance from the Dutch government.

"The Indonesian government expresses its highest appreciation and gratitude to friendly countries that have helped support the vaccine. This time the assistance came from the Dutch government in the form of the Moderna vaccine as many as 680,400 doses of vaccine," said the Director General of Information and Public Communication, Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Usman Kansong was quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 10.

Previously, Indonesia received a donation from the Dutch government in the form of 819,600 doses of Moderna vaccine on Saturday, October 30.

Usman said, with the arrival of the 117th stage, the total number of vaccines arriving in the country reached 331,058,750 doses of vaccine. This amount is the accumulation of various brands both in finished form and raw or bulk materials obtained from direct purchases and assistance from friendly countries.

"The smooth arrival of vaccines has made efforts to accelerate and expand the vaccination program more optimal," said Usman.

According to Usman, in line with the government's steps to increase vaccination achievements in the regions, guarantee the availability of vaccine stocks, acceleration efforts are also carried out by providing education to the public, especially related to untrue news or hoaxes that are widely circulated.

He emphasized that all of the COVID-19 vaccines used were safe and efficacious, and had obtained permission from the POM Agency.

He noted, a number of regions still have vaccination achievements that have not yet met the target. For this reason, the central government encourages regions to continue to accelerate and expand vaccination for their citizens.

"It is also assisted by a number of agencies, such as the TNI and Polri," said Usman.
