At The End Of His Term Of Office, TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto Recalled Surabaya When He Started His Career
SURABAYA - The TNI Commander, Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto, is proud to remember Surabaya at the end of his tenure, because he started his career from the City of Heroes.
"I used to register for the Indonesian Military Academy from Surabaya," he said in Surabaya, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 10.
The TNI Commander in Surabaya gave encouragement and met with 200 Indonesian Navy officers on the deck of KRI Makassar-590. "At the end of my term of office, I feel proud to be able to stand in the midst of Navy soldiers, because for almost four years I have continued to support the implementation of my main tasks in the context of quite heavy state tasks, ranging from non-natural threats, as well as operations that have been carried out together," he said.
Because it coincided with Heroes' Day, November 10, 2021, he deliberately came to Surabaya in order to meet with Indonesian Navy officers who have always been together in dealing with COVID-19.
The TNI Commander advised that Surabaya is a miniature model of the Indonesian Navy, as well as TNI interoperability in the concept of joint operations, because all Indonesian Navy equipment is in Surabaya, starting from the Kodiklatal, AAL, Fleet Command II TNI AL, Navy Aviation Center, Marine Troops 2, Base TNI AL Air, to the TNI AL V/Surabaya Main Base, and the TNI AL Hospital Dr Ramelan.
Marshal Hadi encouraged the Indonesian Navy to be more advanced in the midst of various challenges faced, especially related to the increasingly rapid development of technology.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, Admiral Yudo Margono, admitted that he had experienced Tjahjanto's leadership and imitated his leadership.
"I myself have felt that since I was Pangkolinlamil, Pangkoarmada I, Pangkogabwilhan I, until now serving as Kasal, I understand very well how he leads humanely, how to lead consistently in the main tasks carried out. So that we can carry out the Navy's main programs well thanks to the leadership TNI Commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto," he said.
Margono said he was grateful for Tjahjanto's dedication and service, especially when he was the commander of the TNI.
According to him, Tjahjanto's leadership can be a role model for soldiers and the next generation of TNI.
Previously, President Joko Widodo had proposed the name of the Army Chief of Staff, General TNI Andika Perkasa, as the sole candidate for TNI commander, who would replace Tjahjanto. Andika Perkasa has been approved by the DPR to become TNI Commander.
