A Doctor in Medan Died due to COVID-19
MEDAN - A doctor who was also a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra (North Sumatra), Ahmad Rasyidi Siregar, passed away due to COVID-19.
"The deceased was Dr. Ahmad Rasyidi Siregar, a 71-year-old surgical specialist," said Medan City COVID-19 Task Force spokesman, Dr. Mardohar Tambunan when confirmed, Tuesday, August 4.
Doctor Ahmad Rasyidi died in medical treatment at Siloam Hospital. Mardohar said, from the results of the swab test result, doctor Ahmad Rasyidi was exposed to COVID-19.
"So until now, 2 people have died at USU, previously a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering," said Mardohar.
From the latest development data, there were 20 positive COVID-19 people within the USU campus environment. This positive patient consisted of 16 lecturers and 4 staff.
"USU has also extended its lockdown period," he said.
Meanwhile quoted from the data of the Medan Task Force for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling as of 12:10 WIB, Tuesday, August 4, a total of 2,534 people were stated positive. There were 816 patients who recovered, 131 people died, and 1,587 people were still being treated.
