Bandung Cikutra TPU Landslides Due To Heavy Rain, 4 Bodies Are Almost Carried Away By The River Current

BANDUNG - The area of Bandung City, West Java, has been hit by heavy rain since around 14:00 WIB, Wednesday, November 10, causing a landslide in several blocks at the Cikutra Public Cemetery.

The head of the UPT Cemetery Region 3 of the Spatial Planning Service (Distaru) of Bandung City, Sumpena, said that the landslide caused the four bodies to potentially be carried away by river currents.

"There are four bodies but they have not been carried away by the current, it is clear that the bodies are in a dangerous position," Sumpena said in Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara.

The locations of a number of tombs that collapsed were located on the banks of a tributary of the Cidurian River. With a swift current, making the river bank landslide.

Currently, according to Sumpena, the four bodies have been transferred to a safer place by TPU officers and officers from Distaru Bandung City. According to him, the transfer of the body has received approval from the family or heirs. However, according to him, the bodies being moved will increase considering that the area is still not safe from potential landslides.

"Look at the situation and conditions on the other side, we will coordinate with the family if there is the potential to be moved," he said.

The landslide at the Cikutra TPU also happened in 2019. However, the location of the current landslide is different from before because the area has not been made fortified.
