Police Arrest Kawasaki KLX Motorcycle Thief When Victim Is Vaccination In Langkat

MEDAN - The man with the initials MS (19), a resident of Simpang Kutabuluh Hamlet, Simpang Kutabuluh Village, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra was arrested by the police. He stole Simon Ginting's Kawasaki KLX motorcycle.

Binjai Police Chief AKBP Ferio Sano Ginting, through the Head of Public Relations Subdivision, AKP Siswanto Ginting, said the victim lost his green Kawasaki KLX motorcycle on Monday, November 8.

At that time, his motorbike was parked in the courtyard of the SMA Negeri 1 Sei Bingai building. The motorbike was used by his nephew, Roni Pranadika Purba (17) to participate in COVID-19 vaccination activities for students.

"However, after being vaccinated and about to go home, Roni Pranadika Purba was surprised when he realized that his uncle's motorbike, which was previously parked in the yard of the SMA Negeri 1 Sei Bingai building, was no longer in its place," said AKP Siswanto, Wednesday, November 10.

Finding his motorbike missing, Roni immediately informed the security guard of SMA Negeri 1 Sei Bingai.

"The student also informed his uncle, Simon Ginting, that the motorcycle disappeared," he said.

Simon then reported the case to the SPKT Unit of the Sei Bingai Police. The police report was recorded with the number: LP/67/XI/2021/SPKT-A-SB dated November 8, 2021.

"Upon receiving the victim's report, the Sei Bingai Police Chief, AKP Rismanto J Purba, immediately ordered the Criminal Investigation Unit Ipda MM Ketaren, along with members of the police department, to follow up on the alleged theft of the motorcycle," said AKP Siswanto.

Police have also identified the suspect who stole the victim's motorbike. This is based on the results of CCTV camera footage, as well as information from a school security guard who saw a man in a black jacket and head covering leaving the school on the victim's motorbike.

"After pocketing the characteristics and identity of the suspect who stole the victim's motorbike, the Sei Bingai Police Criminal Investigation Unit Opsnal Team then began a search and arrest operation for MS," continued AKP Siswanto.

After arresting the suspect MS, the police secured evidence of the victim's green Kawasaki KLX motorbike. The motorbike was stored by the perpetrator at his friend's house, the residential area of Jalan Semi, Tanah Merah Village, South Binjai District, Binjai City.

"In this case, MS is suspected of violating Article 363 of the Criminal Code. He himself is threatened with imprisonment of more than five years," said AKP Siswanto.
