A Criminal Case Revealed: It's Already Porn, Stolen Anyway

JAKARTA - The internet is growing fast, spreading to the joints of people's lives. At the same time, pornography is also on the rise.

Some time ago, the Directorate of Cyber Crime, Bareskrim Polri, revealed a website for distributing pornographic content on the internet. Photos and videos showing these indecent scenes can be accessed by anyone regardless of age.

Karo Penmas DivHumas Polri Brig. Gen. Argo Yuwono said, in that case, two people with the initials RM (38) and SW (25) were named suspects. Both of them are managers of porn sites which are quite crazy because they contain pornographic scenes that are done by children.

"The suspect's mode of action is to create a website as a means to distribute and transmit millions of adult and child pornographic content in the form of photos, videos and sex stories in online media," said Argo in Jakarta, Friday, December 20.

Furthermore, Argo explained, the pornographic content contained in the suspect's website was taken from another site. Meanwhile, Kasubdit 1 Dittipidsiber Bareskrim Polri Kombes Dani Kustoni added that the two suspects were arrested in different locations.

For the suspect, SW (25) was arrested, Wednesday, December 18, 2019, in Boyolali, Central Java. Meanwhile, RM (38) was arrested on November 29, 2019 in Bogor, West Java.

Uniquely, the two are said to have never met in person. The two of them only knew each other on social media before deciding to work together to create the pornographic site.

According to Dani, the suspects benefited from the advertisements that appeared on the site. Each month, the suspects can earn up to millions of rupiah in profits.

"The suspect has rented fish for Rp 3 million per month since 2013. The total earned is around Rp. 30 to Rp. 50 million per month," said Dani.

Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Rita Pranawati also commented on the case. According to him, there must be management or provision for children in using the internet. Starting from parents to schools are asked to provide education about the use of internet technology.

"I think parents are important to provide good knowledge about digital literacy as well as schools. It is important to explain what virtual world is, when to have social media and if anything happens," said Rita.
