After Washing a Deceased Body due to COVID-19, The Residents of Nagan Raya Did a Rapid Test and Confirmed

JAKARTA - 20 residents in Serbajadi Village, Darul Makmur Subdistrict, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, were confirmed to be reactive on the COVID-19 after bathing a positive COVID-19 deceased body with the initials PR (63).

"20 out of 100 people are reactive," said Coordinator of the 19th COVID Response Task Force, Nagan Raya District, Edi Hidayat, as reported by Antara on Tuesday, August 4.

Previously, the residents bathed the body of PR who died on Saturday, August 1. PR died while undergoing treatment at Sultan Iskandar Muda Hospital, Nagan Raya.

According to Edi, the positive results were obtained after the local task force team tracked several residents who bathed and buried PR without the COVID-19 protocol.

PR's body was buried normally because the results of the swab test just came out the day after the burial.

Doctor Edi Hidayat explained, the 20 people were currently undergoing independent isolation in their respective homes. They are waiting for the next step by the cluster team.

"The rapid test is also an effort of the local government to break the chain the coronavirus transmission," Edi Hidayat added.

Until now, two residents in a village in Darul Makmur Subdistrict died because of COVID-19. They were TK (75) and PR (63)

Both were buried in different locations. TK was buried in a special location prepared by the local government.

While PR was buried in a public cemetery because the results of the swab of the deceased came out late.
