Conte Is Committed To Continuing His Duties At Inter Until 2022
JAKARTA - Antonio Conte has dismissed the rumors circulating about his future at Inter Milan. The former Chelsea and Juventus coach insists he is committed to continuing the three-year project with the Italian club.
Conte, who has just coached Inter for a season, successfully led the team to finish second in the Italian League final standings in Serie A. Despite being the club's best achievement in the last nine years, Inter still lost competing with Juventus who became champions.
After beating Atalanta 2-0 in the closing match of the 2019/20 season, Conte criticized the Nerazzurri owners.
According to him, the owner did not provide equal support to himself and the players in the midst of a wave of criticism, while admitting that his work was not much appreciated.
However, that attitude seemed to soften just two days after he made the criticism.
"I am committed to a three-year project at Inter as I have done in my previous jobs," Conte said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 4.
"I will work to give all my strength and effort to make it a successful project," added Conte.
Conte's first season in charge of Inter is not over yet, considering Nerazurri is scheduled to face Spain's Getafe in the last 16 of the Europa League.
Inter are one of the few big teams that are banned as candidates for the European second caste competition.
