Planned To Close For Revitalization, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport Is Currently Still Operating Normally

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Adita Irawati confirmed that the operation of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta is currently running normally to serve passengers.

"Until now the operations of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport are still operating as usual," Adita said in a statement quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 9.

Adita said that scheduled and unscheduled commercial flights, as well as military activities at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, were still running normally and there had been no changes.

He said the Ministry of Transportation also ensured that it would provide the public with the latest information if there were further changes.

"We will also give time for airlines, operators and relevant stakeholders to prepare themselves if there will be a revitalization (Halim Perdanakusuma Airport)," he concluded.

For information, the Ministry of Transportation plans to revitalize Jakarta's Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP), in order to increase the flight safety factor.

The revitalization is carried out considering that Halim Airport has a vital function, but there has been a decline in the quality of airport elements, especially the runway.

Intensive discussions are being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, Indonesian Air Force, Ministry of Finance, State Secretariat, Ministry of PUPR, Angkasa Pura II and other relevant stakeholders.
