DKI Provincial Government Is Ready To Provide Further Explanation Regarding Formula E If KPK Needs It

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate, Syaefulloh Hidayat, said that his party is ready to provide further explanation regarding the international Formula E racing event to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) if needed.

He conveyed this after submitting 600 documents to the KPK at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, November 9.

"We, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, are ready if at any time further explanation is needed regarding the implementation of Formula E in Jakarta," Syaefulloh told reporters.

He ensured that his party would be open regarding the implementation of the international electric car racing event, which is often controversial. This also caused Syaefulloh and his entourage to come to the KPK to submit documents.

"This is a form of our commitment at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to continue to improve governance reform. Then, this is also part of the implementation of the integrated corruption prevention program which is the KPK's korsupgah program," he said.

Not only that, the submission of this document is also considered as a form of risk mitigation in the implementation of activities in the DKI Provincial Government. Thus, Syaefulloh hopes that the KPK will provide feedback and issue recommendations regarding the implementation of the international event.

Syaefulloh also explained the contents of the documents related to Formula E that he brought and had submitted to the KPK.

"The documents that we submitted are complete from the planning process to the final position. Hopefully it provides a complete picture of how we plan to implement Formula E," said Syaefulloh.

"What is certain is that we will support it. The DKI Provincial Government really supports the efforts made by the KPK in the context of preventing corruption in Jakarta," he added.

As previously reported, the KPK admitted that it was investigating allegations of corruption from the international Formula E racing event, which has always been in the public spotlight. Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, even said that his party had collected evidence by summoning those suspected of being involved.

"KPK is asking for information and clarification from several parties in order to collect data and information or information needed by the investigative team," said Ali.

He said the investigation was a follow-up to reports submitted by the public. Ali said, there are people who feel suspicious about the process of organizing Formula E in DKI Jakarta and report it to the KPK.

"This activity is of course a follow-up to the information submitted by the public regarding the implementation of Formula E in DKI Jakarta to the KPK," he said.
