Five TNI Generals Have The Opportunity To Replace Andika Perkasa As KSAD Observer Version, Who Are They?
JAKARTA - There are at least five high-ranking three-star TNI AD officers who have a chance to replace General TNI Andika Perkasa as the Army Chief of Staff.
This follows General Andika Perkasa's nomination as TNI Commander to replace Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto. This was conveyed by an intelligence and military observer, Susaningtyas NH Kertopati.
The five names, said Susaningtyas, are Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General TNI Herindra; Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army, Lieutenant General TNI Bakti Agus Fadjari; Chief of the TNI General Staff, Lt. Gen. Eko Margiyono; Head of BAIS TNI, Lt. Gen. Joni Supriyanto; and the Commander of Kostrad, Lieutenant General TNI Dudung Abdurachman.
He explained that Herindra had a good level of educational experience and the best graduates, including Adi Makayasa, who graduated from the 1987 Military Academy.

He said, many opinions that for the position of TNI commander or chief of staff of the TNI dimension only consider age. In fact, work performance should be more prominent.
"Young people can serve for a long time, but there are no achievements, it's also useless. Moreover, old age but no achievements," said the former member of Commission I of the DPR.
He stated that ideally high-ranking officers who occupy the position of Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army are expected to have reliable combat management and military diplomacy capabilities.
The candidate for building the highest strength of the Indonesian Army is also expected to have intelligence knowledge and sufficiently understand the development of new defense technology, including cyber.
In addition, he said, it can build a TNI that is able to carry out interoperability and the quality of TNI soldiers in dealing with cyber warfare. So, the quality needs to be improved to manpower the latest military technology.
He gave an example in terms of the use of unmanned systems in the form of robots as well as artificial intelligence and cyber defense.
In addition, he said, high-ranking officers who occupy the position of Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army are also expected to follow developments in the strategic environment at the global and regional levels and improve the function of defense diplomacy at the international level.
