General Andika's Commitment Not To Enter The Civil Land, Not To Take On The Duties Of Other Ministries, SMEs: We Control!

JAKARTA - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) will oversee General Andika Perkasa's commitment after being officially inaugurated as TNI Commander by President Joko Widodo.

The chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Prosperous Justice Party (DPP PKS) Mardani Ali Sera assessed that Andika's commitment to not wanting the military to take on the duties of other institutions or ministries should be ensured that it runs as it should.

According to him, the TNI must work and be guided by existing laws.

"We must guard General Andika's commitment not to bring the TNI into the civilian realm," said Mardani, Tuesday, November 9.

Mardani assessed that Andika Perkasa's commitment was correct. Because, he said, there are many territorial tasks in facing global challenges and helping to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Because in the future the TNI will face various challenges and difficult tasks, such as assisting the handling of COVID-19, the dynamics of the North Natuna Sea to maintaining TNI solidity and the TNI-Polri synergy," he concluded.

Previously, in the fit and proper test of the candidate for the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General Andika Perkasa, was committed not to enter too much into the realm of civilian institutions. He emphasized that the TNI would only stick to the law and its main functions.

He confirmed that he would carry out his duties based on Law 34/2004 concerning the Indonesian National Army if he was entrusted with being the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces.

"If each department of the institution is disciplined in its main tasks, there will be teamwork, it will become a strength, so my commitment is that we must be disciplined," he said.

In fact, Andika Perkasa also does not want the military to take on the duties of other institutions or ministries and remains guided by the law.

"We do this by strictly adhering to the laws and regulations. Don't overdo it. I also hope that it will not take the ministry sector or other institutions," said Andika.

Even if there are tasks that are helpful in nature, said Andika, the departments/institutions that have the main tasks and functions will be prioritized. Andika also ensured that the TNI-Polri synergy was maintained.

"It must be (TNI-Polri synergy)," he said.
