JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will donate assets looted from corruptors to five agencies. The assets are valued at Rp85.1 billion and are referred to as a form of using looted goods to recover state losses.
"KPK will grant the booty to 5 institutions, namely the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Religion, General Election Commission, and Yogyakarta City Government," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Tuesday, November 9.
The looted items handed over to five agencies consisted of vehicles, land, and buildings. "With a total estimated value of around Rp. 85.1 billion," said Ali.
Later, the symbolic handover will be carried out by the Chairperson of the KPK, Firli Bahuri and received by representatives from the five agencies.
Ali said the anti-corruption commission hopes that the confiscated assets can be used optimally to support the performance of each agency. In addition, the grant of assets looted by corruptors is expected to provide benefits for the recovery of state finances.
"KPK hopes that through the PSP and this grant, the spoils from the TPK can provide optimal benefits in supporting the implementation of tasks at the receiving agency," he said.
"This is in line with law enforcement in the context of eradicating corruption which not only provides a deterrent effect to the perpetrators, but how these efforts also provide the maximum benefit to the recovery of state financial losses," concluded Ali.
