Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution Prepares 300 Quotas For Education Scholarships For Undergraduates
MEDAN - Medan City Government, North Sumatra, opened a scholarship program for education up to undergraduate level at the Prima Indonesia University (Unpri) Medan City for 300 high school graduates/equivalent.
"We provide 300 scholarship quotas for Medan City students who want to continue their education to college," said Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 8.
The scholarship is only intended for students who hold a Medan City ID card, and prioritize those from underprivileged families by showing a local village certificate.
Furthermore, said the mayor, Bobby Nasution, this scholarship is also prioritized for students who become orphans, because their parents died as a result of being confirmed COVID-19.
Pemko Medan offers scholarships for study programs, such as nursing and midwifery, teacher training and education, technology and computer science, and so on.
"We have opened registration from November 26-31, and registration forms can be picked up at the sub-district office according to domicile," explained Bobby Nasution.
The mayor of Medan also said that this scholarship is a contribution to the world of education in the city of Medan, so that underprivileged students can get an education.
"For scholarship recipients, we hope to be able to participate in diligent learning. Moreover, the available facilities really support the smooth teaching and learning process," said Bobby.
"Besides that, I hope that education at the college level can change the mindset and character on campus to be even better," said Mayor Bobby Nasution.
