Targeted By Radical Understanding, Governor Arinal Djunaidi Pushes Boarding Schools In Lampung To Be Antidote
LAMPUNG - Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi asked the managers or caregivers of madrasas and Islamic boarding schools to ward off radicalism and terrorism.
"Lampung is suspected of being an easy target for terrorists to spread their ideas about," he said, while receiving an audience for the board of the Lampung National Teachers Association (PGMNI) at Mahan Agung, Bandarlampung, quoted from Antara, Monday, November 8.
He said that people with emotional instability are often used to include radical ideologies so that an early understanding of the dangers of radicalism needs to be instilled.
According to him, the understanding was first from the family environment and then the educational environment, namely schools, and direct socialization in the community.
On the other hand, he continued, more and more parents are now sending their children to madrasas with complete curriculum, general and religious education, tahfidz Al-Qur'an, scholarships abroad, and others.
He said that formally the management of madrasas was the responsibility of the Ministry of Religion so that local governments and governors could not intervene in the management of madrasas.
Chairman of the PGMNI Lampung, Nazein Rosyadi, said that there were obstacles in the success of the teaching and learning process in madrasas, ranging from classroom facilities, infrastructure, and even infrastructure.
They want Djunaidi to pay attention to the fact that madrasa teachers also have the task of educating children in Lampung. Even with this important task, Rosyadi feels that the government is still not paying attention.
