Case Of Disposal Of Head Of Cows From Slaughter Of Sacrifices In Kupang, 2 People Arrested By Police
JAKARTA - The Kupang City Police have arrested two people suspected of carrying out the case of dumping hundreds of heads of cows from the slaughter of sacrificial animals during Eid al-Adha in one of the vacant lots on lane 40, Manulai II Village, Alak District, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara.
"We have already arrested two people. Both have the initials HAP and MJ, who are suspected of being the perpetrators who threw hundreds of cattle heads in one of the vacant lots in Kupang City," said Kupang City Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Satrya Binti as reported by Antara, Monday, 3 August.
The arrests of the two men were made after the police searched for the perpetrators of dumping hundreds of heads of cows dumped on land belonging to Dominggus O Savings in RT 16 / RW 04, Kelurahan Manulai II, who were found on Sunday, August 2.
Satrya said the two of them were being investigated to find out why the hundreds of heads of cows were dumped on people's land, which resulted in the smell of carcasses disturbing road users and land owners.
The existence of this cow head carcass was known from a Facebook account in the name of Stef Seran, who broadcast a live video of his findings on his social media which later became everyone's conversation.
In the video Stef shows hundreds of cow heads and leg bones scattered about and already emitting a bad smell. Stef suspected that the hundreds of heads and bones of the cow came from a sacrificial animal that had been slaughtered a few days earlier.
"We have examined Stefanus Seran, because he was the first person to find the carcass of a cow's head lying on the land belonging to Dominggus O Savings. Then Stefanus recorded using his cellphone and broadcast on Facebook," he said.
The investigation process has also been carried out since Sunday, 2 August evening, at which investigators from the Sat Reskrim at the Kupang City Police have investigated two parties, each of whom disposed of the head of the cow and the driver of the garbage truck carrying it.
Regarding what criminal elements will be applied, said Satrya, is entering into violations of the environmental pollution law.
