Police Reveal The Smuggling Of 131 Kg Of Sabu Stacked With Red Bricks

JAKARTA - The police thwarted the smuggling of 131 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine using a truck loaded with red bricks as the mode. The crystal meth comes from Sumatra and will be sent to Java.

"Sabu is stored in a bag, there are six bags there containing 131 silver plastic bags stored in a pile of stones in the Fuso truck," said the Head of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Inspector General Nana Sudjana to reporters, Monday, August 3.

The disclosure of this case began when there was information about the existence of a drug-carrying truck at the Lemigas Complex, South Jakarta. So, it was immediately followed up on Thursday, July 30.

"During the period of three months of investigation until finally there is information. Then immediately followed up," said Nana.

As a result, two people with the initials AP and HD were arrested. They are couriers who are only assigned to carry hundreds of drug packages to Jakarta. Later, the delivery will be continued by other couriers

"The two of them were couriers ordered by the person who is currently still a DPO under the name Santi alias Selvi," said Nana.

Apart from hundreds of kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and one truck, the police also confiscated two cellphones as goods. Later, the data on the cellphone will be checked to find out the whereabouts of the figure who gave the order.

As a result of their actions the suspects were subject to Article 114 paragraph 2 subsidiary Article 112 paragraph 2 subsidiary Article 111 paragraph 2 junto Article 132 of RI Law number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics. They face up to 20 years in prison.
