Asked About Debt To Banks For Formula E, Head Of Dispora DKI: No Comment

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) Ahmad Firdaus was reluctant to comment regarding the debt to Bank DKI to finance Formula E in 2019.

Two years ago, Kadispora borrowed money after receiving a power of attorney from the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan. "No comment," said Firdaus after attending the plenary meeting at the DKI DPRD Building, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 8.

Before long, Firdaus immediately rushed to leave the media crew in the Kebon Sirih parliament building.

Previously, there was a power of attorney circulating from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan to the Head of the Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) to apply for a regional loan to the bank to organize Formula E. The power of attorney was signed on August 21, 2019.

The day after the power of attorney was issued, Dispora DKI submitted a debt to Bank DKI in the amount of 10 million pounds or Rp. 180 billion to pay the first term commitment fee.

Separately, Deputy Governor of DKI Ahmas Riza Patria admitted that he only learned about the news regarding the DKI Provincial Government's debt to Bank DKI amounting to Rp180 billion to finance Formula E two years ago.

"I just heard about it. Later I will check whether the Provincial Government has borrowed from Bank DKI. What is certain is that all the money from the DKI Regional Government is for all interests, right at Bank DKI," said Riza.
