Bridge In Central Bengkulu Broken By Flash Flood
CENTRAL BENGKULU - The bridge in Kertapati Village, Pagar Jati District, Central Bengkulu Regency was broken due to heavy rains which caused river water to overflow.
Head of the Emergency Division of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Central Bengkulu Regency, Andri Edo Saputra, stated that the suspension bridge was built using Central Bengkulu BPBD funds in 2019.
"The bridge is the main access for the people of Kertapati Village so they can move outside the village," said Edo, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 8.
With the breaking of the bridge, the activities of farmers in transporting agricultural products out of the village are paralyzed.
Previously, the Central Bengkulu Regency BPBD said that 121 villages were prone to natural disasters, such as 70 villages prone to landslides, 33 villages prone to flooding, 11 villages prone to tsunami threats and 7 villages prone to tornadoes.
The data is based on the results of the BPBD team's identification of areas prone to natural disasters.
