Many Records Are Created At Peparnas XVI 2021, Menpora: Proof Of Athletes With Disabilities Are Not Less Than Non-Disabled

JAKARTA - The XVI 2021 National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) is still ongoing, medals are also being won by athletes who are fighting in Jayapura, Papua. On the third day of the event, a number of national records were even successfully created by athletes with disabilities.

For this nick, the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali, is also happy and proud. According to him, the results prove that the quality of athletes with disabilities is getting better and not inferior to athletes in general.

"This proves that paralympic or disabled athletes are not inferior to non-disabled athletes," said Zainudin Amali, quoted by VOI from the official release of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Monday, November 8.

"So I hope to all of the community, we encourage them. We support them equally with non-disabled people," he added.

Regarding the increasing quality of the Paralympic Games, the Minister of Youth and Sports then said that the 2021 Peparnas XVI is an event to find the best athlete talent. Later, these athletes will be placed at the NPC National Training Center (Pelatnas) in Solo, Central Java.

"As I've said before, this Peparnas event is an opportunity to see talents, talents that can be pushed to the National Pelatnas in Solo. Later, the NPC will see which ones can be placed in the National Pelatnas," explained the Menpora.

Not only discussing the improving quality of athletes, the Minister of Youth and Sports also mentioned the venue for various sports. According to him, the quality of the venue is of international standard and has been confirmed to be disability-friendly.
